Frontier workers
Those working in Gibraltar but living in Spain are entitled to healthcare on both sides of the border and can register for health care cover with the S1 form. This applies to pensioners retiring abroad, as well as families of a person working abroad.
To benefit from the Spanish National Healthcare system and medical assistance, dependents of frontier workers living in Spain must enrol with the General Social Security Fund (Dirección General de la Tesorería General de la Seguridad Social - TGSS). This provides access to free or low cost healthcare. Provincial social security offices are located throughout the country.
Once you have your S1 stamped by the local authorities you can get registered at your local health centre (Centro Salud) where they assign you a doctor. Again this is a local health centre near you which corresponds to your address and also you can register with the GHA in Gibraltar (please see the link below with all the requirements)
